Many Christians today make the common statement that Jesus is God. They go around the world pushing the claim. We are going to provide facts as to why Jesus is NOT God.

First, here are some definitions to set the groundwork
God- the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the supreme being.
god-Idol/Lesser entity)
Jesus- the Teacher and Messiah, whose life, death, and resurrection conveys the message of salvation through Him.
Yeshua– AkaJesus the Son of Yahweh
- Jesus and Yeshua are used interchangeably throughout our articles and sermons
Elohim –plurality of majesty in the Spiritual realm, emanating a form of authority and power https://bibleproject.com/videos/elohim/
Yahweh– the God of Abraham Issac and Jacob, Supreme creator
Father – as mentioned in the bible- Yahweh
Translation problems
Modern translations of the bible merged the words Father, Yahweh and Elohim into one term, GOD.
By doing this, they have greatly confused who Jesus is in relation to us.
Let’s go to John 1:1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. 2He was in the beginning with Elohim. 3All came to be through Him, and without Him not even one came to be that came to be. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6There was a man sent from Elohim, whose name was YoÁanan. 7This one came for a witness, to bear
witness of the Light, that all might believe through him. 8He was not that Light, but that he might bear witness of that Light. 9He was the true Light, which enlightens every man, coming into the world. 10He was in the world, and the world came to be through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
God used in the first scripture would describe Jesus as God, but the Second version shows Jesus as part of the Divinely influenced spiritual authority.
Elohim, Yahweh, and Father are translated as God in most Bibles. The Father creates through Jesus as man creates through a woman.
Jesus mentions going to the Father/Jesus prays to the Father
Below you will see Jesus’ words that prove there is one with more authority than Himself
- “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34).
- “The Father knows me and I know the Father” (John 10:15)
- John 20:17 Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father.
- 36 Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” 37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch[a] with me.” 39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” 40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 42 Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.”
There are more examples, but I’m sure you get the point. Some questions to ask would be, if Jesus were in fact God, why did HE pray to Himself? Why did he plead for people? Why did He speak to himself? Sounds kinda odd, right?
Jesus ‘ relationship with the Father
Below you will see proof that Jesus and the Father are two separate beings. Separate but one, this concept is better understood once Jesus enters into you, but can be similarly understood as a husband and wife. The husband and the wife are both the ” Joneses”; they both are one flesh, working with one goal, but yet two. This, of course, is the Father’s design, but of course, sin interferes with the marriage.
- “For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken.”
- So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing
- 36“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, f but only the Father.
The verses above show that there is an authority difference between Jesus and the Father/Yahweh. Jesus was given authority over Heaven and earth; however, some matters are ONLY decided on by the Father. We have been told multiple times by Jesus that He will present a matter to the Father, and we wait for Jesus ‘ return with the Father’s decree.
Old Testament display of who Jesus is.
Old Testament, we see instructions to the Father’s chosen to pitch a tabernacle wherein the people will have a way to communicate with the Father. However, not everyone was allowed into the innermost parts of the tabernacle. There was appointed one who would appear before the Father on everyone’s behalf. This High Priesthood was given to Jesus as He was crowned King and High Priest.
- 14Therefore, since we have a great High
Priest who has passed through the heavens,
Yeshua the Son of Elohim, let us hold fast
our confession.
15For we do not have a High Priest
unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
But one who was tried in all respects as we
are, apart from sin.
16Therefore, let us come boldly to the
throne of favour, in order to receive compassion, and find favour for timely help. - For every priest taken from among
Men are appointed on behalf of men in
matters relating to Elohim, to offer both
gifts and offerings for sins, 2 being able to have a measure of feeling
for those not knowing and being led astray,
since he himself is also surrounded by
weakness. 3And on account of this, he has to offer
for sins – as for the people, so also for himself. 4And no one obtains this esteem for
himself, but he who is called by Elohim,
even as Aharon also was. 5So also the Messiah did not extol
Himself to become High Priest, but it was
He who said to Him, “You are My Son,
Today I have brought You forth.” m
6As He also says in another place, “You
are a priest forever, according to the order
of MalkitseÅeq,” n
What is the Problem with Calling Jesus God
Jesus is the High Priest, He is the Messiah, and He is the King. Mankind was rejected, a regretted creation by the Father. Jesus bought us, the rejects, so that we can live. WE deserve to die forever in hellfire for the evil we commit daily. Through Jesus, a relation with the Father is restored. None of this can happen properly if you do not recognize who is who. It’s like going into a courtroom with no attorney; rarely will you win a case because the judge is only listening to legal language. Jesus is your attorney, so to speak, and covers you legally in front of the judge.
Here are a few issues you cause with the illusion that Jesus is God:
1: You miss the opportunity to get to know your King.
2: You are easily deceived by the devil and His minions. (My people perish (go to hell) for lack of knowledge).
3: You fail at one of the commandments, which is seek the Father with all your heart, mind, and being.
4: Commandment #1: Thou shalt not make any graven image of the Father.
*Statues and crosses of Jesus, at the same time calling Him God, you have made a graven image of the Father.
We hope that this little article will help you recognize your mission, which is reconcile with the Father through His Son and let Jesus represent you and accept Him as your Kinsman redeemer so that you may live in the new Heaven and new Earth forever.
From an unkown author
Where Jesus is referenced alone, he can be referred to as “God.” But where Jesus and the Father are referenced together, only the Father is referred to as “God.” This is akin to the Sun and it’s light: for example, when sunlight is shining in through a window, we can call that light “sun.” But if we want to reference both the Sun and its light together, only the Sun can be referred to as such; it’s light has to be called “sunlight” or some other term.
