Matthew 9:16 16“And no one puts a piece of unshrunk
cloth on an old garment, for the patch pulls
away from the garment, and the tear is
made worse.

This parable is a great reflection of how Yeshua’s teachings will not combine well with world views nor religious viewpoints. Just as a piece of new, unshrunk cloth would shrink and tear away from an old, worn cloth when washed, Yeshua and the new covenant message cannot be forced into the old law or an old way of thinking. The parable highlights the need for a complete transformation and a new approach rather than a shoddy patch job on the old.
