What is the Gate? Who is the Gate?

 

We know in the old Testament there is alot of talk of gates.

The one we are going to talk about is the Gate of Mercy

“The Gate of Mercy” is another name for the Golden Gate, the easternmost gate of Jerusalem’s Old City walls

Jews believe that when the Messiah (the promised deliverer of the Jewish nation as prophesied in the Jewish bible) arrives, he will enter Jerusalem through the Eastern Gate.

Muslims believe the gate is referred to as Bab al-Dhahabi or Bab al-Zahabi (meaning Golden Gate or sometimes referred to as the Gate of Eternal Life). Muslims also place religious significance at this location, as some believe that this is the site of Allah’s final judgment and the site of future resurrection.

Christians believethe Eastern gate of the Old City, or the “Golden Gate,” is the place at which the parents of Mary met after the Annunciation. As such, the site of the gate became a symbol of the virgin birth of Jesus. Furthermore, apocryphal texts in Christianity also detail that Yeshua passed through this same gate on Palm Sunday, giving the gate messianic importance.

Palm Sunday was the “beginning of the end” of Yeshuas’ work on earth. Palm Sunday began with Jesus and His disciples traveling over the Mount of Olives. The Lord sent two disciples ahead into the village of Bethphage to find an animal to ride. They found the unbroken colt of a donkey, just as Jesus had said they would ( Luke 19:29-30 ).

yeshua came through the GAte of Mercy on  His way to Atonement.  Once all was completed Yeshua Himself became the gate, that anyone who wants to reconcile with the Father must go through Him.

 

The New Jerusalem, which is also called the tabernacle of God, the Holy City, the city of God, the Celestial City, the city foursquare, and heavenly Jerusalem, is literally heaven on earth. It is referred to in the Bible in several places (Galatians 4:26; Hebrews 11:10; 12:22–24; and 13:14), but it is most fully described in Revelation 21.
